The Office of Justice and Peace, with over four decades of service, is an enduring expression of our commitment to the Congregation’s mission to unite neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God.
In 2011, all of us – Associates, Agregees, and vowed Sisters, committed ourselves to
be informed, compassionate advocates
for people who are poor and alienated and to
be responsible, concerned stewards of the earth and universe …
we join with others to
effect change in those ecclesial,
civic and ecological systems
that hinder the journey toward
the day when all will be one.
Arriving Migrants Statement
The U.S. Federation of the Sisters of St. Joseph has released a statement regarding arriving migrants. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, who are members of CSSJ, support the statement which opposes “the current administration’s continued denigration of those fleeing untenable situations in their home countries through an executive order which will block those seeking asylum in the
U.S.”
The statement goes on to say “As women religious, we reject the rhetoric of fear and policy of division that poisons our politics today.”
